Enjoy Life!

Hey Everyone!! It has been a whole month since I've blogged. Sorry. I don't have my own computer so I never get time to post! But tonight I wanted to at least post a short entry.

This card is a combination of scraps and things that I stamped like a year or two ago. You know when you just stamp some images but don't know what to do with them? Well this was one of the times. Then recently I looked at the images and thought...hmmm I can do something with them now!

Hope you are all enjoying time scrapping or card making!! I am!

Later,

Merry Kissmas!! ;)

WHOA!! Am I a slacker or what...either I haven't been making cards, or I haven't been posting... Okay so the truth is..I haven't been posting. You don't need to hear excuses so let's just look at my newest Christmas card.

I made this card because...as I've said previously, I like the little people on the paper. I also love the green paper! Gotta love the green, brown and pink combo! I did end up making more of this card because I liked it so much, but with a couple changes...different ribbon and flowers...which I will post once I have taken pictures of them.

I can't believe it's almost Christmas. I'm so not ready. I have ideas but no firm purchases made. And I am just now starting to notice the Christmas music being played on the radio and in stores... Then comes the snow. AWWW man! I'm not a big fan of the cold flakey stuff...it's pretty...but not fun to drive in.

Anyways, I better end my rant on snow now before I get too carried away.

Have a lovely day!

Not Pretty in Pink

Okay so I was looking over my blog today...and I noticed that most of my cards have been pink. That's alotta pink! Don't get me wrong, I like pink, but it's definitely not my favorite color.

So today's card pic is not pink at all. I made this card for my friend Marijka's birthday that was a week ago. I waited to post it as not for her to see it before I gave it to her.

I used brown shimmer paper, polka dot double sided paper and some other light blue/brown patterned paper that I bought from a semi-local scrapbook store. The ribbon I bought from the same store, by the yard. I used Stickles for the 'i's' and a mini alphabet stamp for the 'Birthday Wishes'. The brad I believe is a Making Memories jewel brad, but I can only find the one...not good!

Hope you like it! Let me know what you think!!

I did make a card today...but when I went to take a picture of it the battery on my camera was dead. So for now I'm posting this one. I did this awhile ago for a SplitCoastStampers challenge. I'll have to add the details later. Just thought I would share something.

Too Late, Too Little

Yes, I know the saying is too little, too late...but tonight it's too late for me to write...so I will be writing too little. He he he.

Today was busy like everyday. And I was planning to stay home after work and scrap with my mom...but then choir was calling out to me. My church is putting on a Christmas presentation, and the choir is at the centre of it. I love singing in the choir. The different voices blending together to create just a truly magical experience. It's great! So I joined...I sand...I couldn't breathe...came home and had some tea.

Anyways, tomorrow night will also be hard for me to post, as I will be out bowling. I am a youth leader at my church and tomorrow night is Glow in the Dark Bowling. Sooo much fun! I'll do my best.

Hope you had a great day!

Sorry for the 'too little' post!

Always On My Mind

So today I have been in a very nostalgic kinda mood. Looking at old pictures, listening to songs I used to listen too, and thinking about different times throughout my life. It also got me thinking about people who have had an impact on my life.

I made this card probably last week. I fell in love with the paper, as I always do, and then the rest just fell into place. But it is the sentiment that really ties it all together. "Always on my mind, forever in my heart". I love it. It reminds me of that song "Always On My Mind". I love the version that Michael Buble sings, and I listen to it all the time.

I think that no matter what happens in life the people that made an impact on my will always be on my mind, in my prayers and forever in my heart, no matter the circumstances.

On this Thanksgiving weekend one of the things I'm thankful for is the people that God has brought into my life. I am the person I am today because of many lovely people who helped to mould me, and shape my character.

Thanks to all of you.

A Flea's Market

This weekend it's just Mom and Me time. So today we decided we would go to a Flea Market in downtown Hamilton. It has some really great finds...and some really sketchy stuff too. My mom's favorite thing to look at is the jewellery. She loves gold jewellery, but lately has been looking for older necklaces with beads, crystals or pearls, so she can take them apart and make her own creations.

Anyways, this one booth in the middle of the market, this man had all this really old antique stuff. I mean, not garbage junky stuff. I found this cool shelf that I am going to update and put in our scrapbook/craft room. My wooden stamps now have a new home.

I will be putting up more card pics shortly, as I have been making them like crazy lately.

Anyways, see ya tomorrow!

Where does our energy go?

Okay so I was at work today...just typing along. Then before you know it, the day is almost over and all the energy I had has been totally drained from me! My job is not hard, it's not terrible, and it's definitely not boring. But it is really busy, and at times can be a little bit stressful. I did not realize that even dealing with the day to day stresses would drain me so much.

So how do we get that energy back?

At the moment I'm not too sure...too tired to really think about it. :)

Moving on.... I had a visit today from my sister, who is now married and gone. I miss just seeing her face around the house. I hugged her and we shared some giggles and then she went home.

While she was over though we were talking about her car...that is getting a safety done tomorrow morning. Anyways, the safety test technician (if that's what he would be called) phoned her to ask her for a key of some sort...to unlock her tire rims... I dunno. Anywho, my dad ended up talking to the guy because Meg had no idea what the guy was talking about. She was telling my dad to tell him to look in the glove department. Yes, did you catch that. The glove DEPARTMENT.... This is an example of what we call Meganisms. When Megan says things that don't really make sense or she's got the wrong word, as was the case in this story.

So when we started laughing she asked us, "What?"

"It's glove compartment." said my other sister.

"What did I say?" Megan asked

"Glove department."

"OOOOhhhhhhh...."

Well now that I've shared a bit about my day, I'm going to call it a day!

Happy trails.

Creative Juices

Whoa! Who would've thought that as soon as my mom and I got our scrapbook/craft room set up that the creative juices would just flow! I haven't made cards in so long. As for a scrapbook layout, don't even ask when the last time was. You would be so ashamed. I have lots of supplies though. Endless some would say. I just can't help it...but honestly what true scrapbooker can resist the call of the newest papers or a pretty colored ribbon. So I have finally started to use some of my collection and create some cool things. I will post some pictures as I can.

I have been trying to focus on making some Christmas cards, as the sample in my previous post is proof of. It's not always easy to find inspiration. A great site that I am loving right now is splitcoaststampers.com. It is a forum type site where you can go and see galleries upon galleries of other peoples cards and scrapbooking projects among other things. They have daily challenges, great techniques and tutorials, and just fun in general. I have realized so many dreams just from surfing that site.

So today what is on my heart is just to keep dreaming. Dream of what you want to be, what you want to do, and where you want to go. I think at some point I was just living for this day. Forgetting that God wants us to dream. He wants us to live each day showing His glory, but who says that we can't do that by making beautiful things and enjoy doing it. Sounds like a dream to me.

Have a lovely day!

Back In the Game!

Hey everyone! I have not been on here in a long long time due to numerous reasons. Probably the top reason is that I have been super busy. Isn't that everyone's top reason. My sister got married just two weeks ago, so the preparations for that and the many different showers that I was involved in being the maid of honor, are endless. It was a beautiful wedding, perfect weather for pictures, and the reception was a blast. Not to mention that I have gained an awesome brother-in-law out of the whole thing.

So with the wedding and then my sister moving out to their new apartment, everything has been pretty crazy. But thankfully I've had a bit of time to relax and create. I am going to try to upload some photos, but I'm not too sure how to do that yet...but I'm working on it.

Okay so I hope you can see the picture above. It's my "Be Merry" card. I love the paper. Doesn't it look like the elves from the classic "Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer" movie? I just love it. And the colors of course.
Anyways, I will probably post more later, but for now, that's it.
Thanks,
Lindsay
